After developing a strong collection of licensees for the Coastal Living brand, SunGate Partners helped Time Inc. identify and structure a partnership that would bring all of the licensed products together in one robust e-commerce site. After a careful survey of the market, SunGate fostered a relationship with Wayfair (formerly CSN Stores) as the company was working to reposition its shopping sites with branding and content that would make it a design resource for customers. The result is a unique partnership that creates value for all of the parties involved in the Coastal Living brand program. Time Inc. licenses its editorial content to Wayfair to use in a Coastal Living boutique, exposing the magazine to millions of new readers each month while increasing shoppers’ time on the site and driving sales for Wayfair. For the other Coastal Living licensees, Wayfair exposes their product lines to a larger audience than likely through their own online marketing efforts and has functions that also help drive traffic to their local brick & mortar retailers. The program quickly expanded to feature unique boutiques for Time Inc. brands Sunset, This Old House and Real Simple.
