Bob Vila is an American icon: the most recognized and trusted figure in the DIY space, and a proven spokesman for national brands. SunGate Partners was engaged to structure opportunities that would allow Bob Vila to create product lines under his own brand name.
To leverage the strength and credibility of the Bob Vila as a television personality, SunGate identified and developed relationships with companies having major success in direct response programs sold through home shopping channels. This led to a strategic partnership with Viatek, a leading product development firm with tremendous marketing and manufacturing capabilities. The partnership took form as Bob Vila Enterprises, in which Viatek and Bob Vila are owners.
A line of 14 SKUs launched at the 2016 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas, generating strong interest from buyers representing major direct response, online and brick & mortar accounts. Products should appear at retail in Q1 2017, and the line will continue to expand through upcoming retail buying seasons.
